The Iron Duke, Hove

Diving Comedy? The sea air is getting to me.

The Iron Duke, Hove

The first time I walked in, they were playing "Modern Love" by David Bowie, followed by "Generation Sex" by The Diving Comedy. I knew I was going to like it here. Plus they serve pear cider (lush), and we won the pop quiz at the first attempt (our prize being some of their rather lovely Sunday lunches). Fantastic.

Caroline of Brunswick, Brighton

Just moved to Brighton (well, "Hove actually"), and already I've decided that the Caroline is gonna be my regular haunt, even though it's a couple of miles away (it's well worth the bus ride). The percentage of stylishly-dressed customers is incredibly high (not just dodgy old goffs - I'm a fine one to talk - but some really fierce looks), the DJs are spot-on, the staff are friendly, the themed nights are imaginitive, the beer garden is nice, the decor is fantastic (especially in the upstairs room), can't recommend it highly enough.

The Paris House, Hove

Made my first visit to The Juggler last night, having recently moved in around the corner, and they really pushed the boat out with the Hallowe'en thing: incredibly cheap booze, appropriately-themed music, horror classics on the big screen, even free pumpkin pie and sausages. All credit to them for making the effort. Friendly staff, too. On first impressions, I'm glad to have it as one of my locals.
