The Royal Oak, Guildford

Visited in June 2012 - some nice Czech lager on draft - friendly service: recommended

Agree with sonofalbert - I wonder if Tweedledum and Tweedledee from next door have been up to their tricks again? They're village idiots and intolerable snobs to boot

The Grantley Arms, Wonersh

Visited avec family on Friday evening. The blonds had cheeseburgers - big juicey and home-made - not just the meat patties, also the bread / buns too - absolutely top draw. My fish and chips was out of this world - pefect crispy batter - fish moist and perfectly cooked: heaven! It came with peas (minty - jum!) and great chips

You have to check out this place. The owner seems a friendly down to earth guy. He obviously knows his beers - Pilsner Urquelle AND Budweiser Budvar on draft - both kept very well.

Infinitely better than the Jolly Farmer

Ye Olde Ship Inn, Guildford

Top quality Italian pizza - the real deal, thin and crispy, cooked by a wood-fired pizza oven

Far better than crappy Pizza Express

In your pub? Now why would I do that? Better places to drink? You don't deserve my cash.

Bye.

The landlords' comments say it all - how dare they defend their rip off prices by saying that those that find them expensive can go and drink in a social club instead! Stupid snobs.

The brothers Tweedledum and Tweedledee that run this pub need to learn some humility. I also agree with other customer postings - this pub is not very welcoming. The food is very expensive for what it is, average pub grub. The whole set up is a cross between a Harry Enfield, "I saw you coming" sketch and Basil Faulty.

The bottom line is that you behave as though you run the world's best pub but, unfortunately it isn't. Stop treating your customers with contempt.
