Y is a darts board near a billiards table?

Great Pub with real ale and great atmosphere. Listened to a really cool band there also

Excellent. Fullers pub with Okells as a guest beer. Really friendly with customers ranging across the generations. Beer quality superb.

Nice pub. Under new management by freindly young couple. Has bar billiards & darts board side by side. Don't think I would risk a game of billiards while someone is playing darts unless I had a tin hat on. Outside seating to front and rear. Bit exspensive.

Wow! I think FredCarno, BagBilbo and Dementer seem to have lost their bearings! Are we all talking about the same pub or have they posted on the wrong wall? I have used the Royal Oak frequently since it's re-opening and I cannot relate to any of their comments. Regrettably never met Bruce and Em but they must have returned to their natural home on Mount Olympus and opened a wine bar specialising in 40th birthday functions! The Royal Oak is a great pub with a great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, friendly locals and the food is terrific and priced better than any other pub in Guildford I've been to. Haven't come across any scruffy unpleasant staff or poorly kept ale. In fact it was good to see another ale pump arrive this week! Hydes Original should make a nice change for you! The new management are clearly trying very hard and are making a real effort to make this one of the best pubs in Guildford.
