BigManBigThirst - unfortunately they've changed their food! They used to only do weekends and it was really good, properly cooked food. Now it's on every day and it's clearly not as eh, fresh, as it used to be.

I still like the place but I can't disagree with you about the food now.

The Quebec Curve, Surrey Quays

Now being refurbished. It surely can't be as bad, but can they make it any better?

Moby Dick, Surrey Quays

Nice location overlooking the water in the summer and I've had nothing like the bad experiences others have had but it just always seems a bit liefeless, even when there's people in it. There are big signs up now above the bar advising bottled water only so I guess it's definitely not the place to go if you fancy a glass of tap water!

The food is average but reasonably cheap, pretty much as expected for pub food around the 5-6 mark.

I've found it not terrible, not great. If you were walking past and fancied a pint I wouldn't warn against it but wouldn't encourage anyone to make any kind of effort to come here. In a word - unremarkable.

The Ship and Whale, Rotherhithe

I don't go in here that often but have been in a couple of times in the last couple of months ago and the food has gone horrendously downhill since 1-2 years ago.

It seems to take an age to come and there can be large gaps between each person's main courses arriving, enough that you might be finished your main 20 minutes before your mate's meal turns up. Amongst the groups I was with some of it was still good but some of what the group had was literally inedible and had to be returned. The first time I put it down to a bad day, the second time seems to makes it seem more than a co-incidence. As someone else mentioned it's not particularly cheap and if you pay restaurant prices you don't expect a lottery on whether you'll be able to eat.

It's a shame because there's a lack of pubs in the area and it is a nice place and they're clearly capable of making good food but it just seems like they've got careless. 2 years I would have given this place an 8 or maybe 9, now I'll give it a 5 based on the fact the staff are still decent and it is a nice looking pub.

Best pub in the area by a country mile, admittedly there's not much competition but the staff are friendly, the food when it's on is great and it's just generally a nice, interesting place to have a pint or two.

The Yellow House Bar and Kitchen, Surrey Quays

More restaurant than pub really, the food's excellent but it's not really feel the kind of boozer you could sit in for a few hours. Maybe not the best business plan to open it while the tube station's shut either..
