The Crown, Oakengates

Unless you are a regular, this pub is best avoided. Surly, unfriendly staff, a landlord who knows it all, and it is a mystery and a wonder how this is a Cask Marque pub. Because the beers are not all that well kept. Avoid the beer festivals. Unless you like interbulated ale...

Thomas Telford, Telford

It was closed by the borough council's previous Labour administration so the council could make LOTS of money by cramming as many homes on the site as possible

The Church Wicketts, Malinslee

Imagine if Wetherspoons bought the WORST pub in your area. Which had some really dodgy regulars and staff that allowed the dodgy regulars to rule the roost.

That's what happened with the Church Wickets. Wetherspoons wisely sold it on.

It's reputation is now worse than ever. A pub to be avoided. At speed.

The Shrewsbury Hotel, Shrewsbury

There is actually a FANTASTIC beer garden at this pub! Just go through the dining area and there is a courtyard beer garden. Nice and quiet.

The beer is good, as is the food. The vast majority of the staff are fantastic, though ONE person lets the side down. Spends all the time she is on shift whining and moaning about the company, her colleagues, the customers, etc. She depressed the other staff when I was there. The next day? The same staff were smiling and jovial. It only takes one nad apple...

The Hole In The Wall, Shrewsbury

Despite having a chalk notice facing the door as you enter The Hole in the Wall advertising the large list of real ales to be available, to the best of my knowledge, this pub has had NO real ales on for several months. Not even Banks!

Sometimes there is a wait of up to 1 to 1 1/2 hours for food, sometimes there is no chef on.

The food used to be good, but the last few times have not been very good. Carbonised (I am NOT exagerating!) chips being one example.

The staff are becoming experts in the arts of serving their mates first, and/or chatting amongst themselves or to off duty friends rather than serving customers.

It used to be a nice, clean pub, it is now rather dirty, even early on in the day.
