| Despite having a chalk notice facing the door as you enter The Hole in the Wall advertising the large list of real ales to be available, to the best of my knowledge, this pub has had NO real ales on for several months. Not even Banks! Sometimes there is a wait of up to 1 to 1 1/2 hours for food, sometimes there is no chef on. The food used to be good, but the last few times have not been very good. Carbonised (I am NOT exagerating!) chips being one example. The staff are becoming experts in the arts of serving their mates first, and/or chatting amongst themselves or to off duty friends rather than serving customers. | had a fantastic evening in this pub last week, the food was good, hot and not overpriced,there is a second bar called the crypt which is great for chilling out in, all the staff were friendly and had an excellent experience, will definately be visiting again! anonymous - 13 Mar 2007 19:11 |
| Was very disappointed with warm Banks' beer and poor food - burgers burned on the outside and barely cooked in the middle, salad was just lettuce, no pots of ketchup nor mayo, onion rings undercooked, bacon too hard to eat. keith253 - 6 Feb 2007 17:50 |
