Vile experience even by JDW standards. er was almost undrinkable (Everards Hazy Daze) and when the waitress brought the sandwiches out on a plate so hot she needed I napkin I knew it was going to be bad. Shrewsbury has many places worth a visit...this isn't one of them! JDW is for people who can't be 4rsed to look elsewhere!! LickeyEndBooze - 26 Aug 2008 22:33
Enjoyed a couple of real ales with my food at a recent visit. Agree on the garden. It is still a typical Wetherspoons though. gillhalfpint - 3 Jul 2008 12:23
There is actually a FANTASTIC beer garden at this pub! Just go through the dining area and there is a courtyard beer garden. Nice and quiet. The beer is good, as is the food. The vast majority of the staff are fantastic, though ONE person lets the side down. Spends all the time she is on shift whining and moaning about the company, her colleagues, the customers, etc. She depressed the other staff when I was there. The next day? The same staff were smiling and jovial. It only takes one nad apple... Matt_exmo1 - 3 May 2007 00:44
It's a Wetherspoons. Cheap beer which is usually OK. And long queues: because there aren't enough staff, not because the ones they have don't work hard or keep smiling. The "beer garden" is the car park next to the main road. shropspy - 19 Jul 2006 14:48
Great staff, good food, great range of beer and good accomodation. fjldhp - 8 May 2006 21:39
