The Old Crown Inn, Twerton

Home to the worst ladies toilet in the South West

The Bulls Head, Hall Green

Had many an enjoyable evening in here, I must say

The Mountaineer, Kings Heath

Never been in there, but it strikes me as the sort of place where they'd have those pictures of the wall of dogs playing snooker

The Pavilion, Kings Heath

I like it. Nice quiet little place, although I haven't been in there for a while. The snug is nice anyhow.

The Red Lion, Kings Heath

Used to be a cracking boozer, until they turned it into one of those dreadful, formulaic Ember Inns, where the ornaments are stcu to the shelves on the Ikea wall units. I want chintz and stained seats.

The Old Green Tree, Bath

Great pub, with all the Bath faces in there. Love it.

The Volunteer Riflemans Arms, Bath

I'll agree with the commnts on the staff and the customers. Last time I went there, I was accosted by some rough looking bulletheads, and the barmaid was well surly.

The only thing of note is that they have candles on the tables in the evening, which I burnt my hair on after a few too many baby chams

The Hare and Hounds, Kings Heath

Went in there once, got looked at funny, so I came out again

The Rat and Parrot, Bath

Once you get in there, you'll never leave, as you'll stick to the floor, the bit that's not crowded with broken glass anyway.

The Huntsman Inn, Bath

The toilets smell of farts, as does the beer. Wouldn't touch with someone else's barge pole.

The Boat House, Bath

Yet another faceless chain pub with no music, no atmosphere, no locals and no community spirit. A beautiful location, but spoilt by (No) Brains. Could do better.

The Crown and Anchor, Upper Weston

The Raven, Bath

Once a great biker pub, with the best juke box in town, the Raven, in its former incarnation as Hatchetts, was a real old fashioned boozer of the highest order, but is now just another ten a penny city centre bar. Nice idea to do pie and mash, but at least make your pastry crispy. Too much microwave, me thinks. However, good beer is still there and reasonable wines.

The Lamb and Lion, Bath

If you are under 16, it's the place to be. Last time one of us was there, there were some Vicky Pollards fighting in the corner. Charming.

The Old Crown, Kelston

Lovely traditional pub, but unfortunately staffed by sausage rolls.

The Belvoir Castle, Bath

This pub died many years ago.

RIP.

Please widen the Lower Bristol Road, and send this pub to the big brewery in the sky.

Family flowers only.

The Livingstone, Bath

Has been mistaken for a public convenience on many an occasion, and if you go inside, it looks very much the same. A great pub for a pint and a fight.

The Golden Fleece, Bath

If this pub was a country, it'd be Sweden. Nothing particularly remarkable about it, but nothing bad either. Like a Volvo, it's safe, sound, economical and reliable.

The Park Tavern, Bath

Fab garden, tucked away from leering passers by. It must be good because the Red Cross featured it in their Open Gardens Scheme for the UK in 2005.

The Hop Pole, Bath

Ok, if you don't mind being seated amongst sandal wearing, beard toting real ale drinkers, or so-called middle-class pinkos, who would feel more at home in a poncey wine bar, but come here thinking that it's a "real" local. In our opinion, it's near been anywhere near as good since Barry and Elaine left. (He did cook for the Queen, you know!!)

A pleasant spot for a summer afternoon's drinking, but perhaps doesn't live up to its reputation, and for value for money, there are far better choices in the vicinity, with more charming gardens and staff.

The Park Tavern, Bath

One of the best kept secrets in Bath. Lovely, friendly clientele, you are just as likely to meet suits as bikers and the occasional lost and lonely soul! Fantastic home cooked food, and the Sunday roasts are arguably the best value in Bath. If a good, traditional boozer is what you are looking for, you'll be hard pushed to find better than the Park Tavern.
