The Pennsylvanian, Rickmansworth

I do not intend to eat in this pub again. The best I can say for the food was that it was cheap. However friendly service and no loud musik at lunchtime.

The Hop Pocket, Bossingham

Friendly service and good food - we enjoyed our visit and can recommend this pub.

The Fordwich Arms, Fordwich

Visited one lunchtime last week. Friendly service. My meal was excellent, the special of the day - Rabbit Pie followed by a Lemon Posset, all at a very reasonable price. I suppose I could complain that the posset was not good for my cholesterol but it was great as was the pie. Just wish I lived nearer!

Gurkha Tavern, Long Crendon

Appeared boarded up when I passed. Googled it and found it's been up for sell. Will it reopen as a pub, offices or house??

The Eight Bells, Long Crendon

Still a real pub with atmosphere, horse brasses and all. Food sampled good. Service good.

The Beckford Arms, Tisbury

Certainly open in November! Food very good, cannot comment on beers but recommended wine was good. Not a pub for a quick pie and pint but one for enjoying a good meal. The only problem is that too many people know about it and have the cheek to book tables even for mid-week lunchtime. Get there early or book!

The Boot, Salisbury

Pleasant pub with good food, well worth a deviation from the A303.

The Lord Clyde, Borough

I've been using this pub, on and off, since the early 1970's and still visit it 3 or 4 times a year. Unlike many other pubs in the area it remains a real pub. The only changes it notice over this time are the removal of the division between the old public, saloon and snug bars; a better choice of beers; hot food now being served; and the retirement of two generations of licensees - its now being run by the third generation of the same family. Food, beer, and good service in a real pub - what more can one ask?
