| beers are usually pretty good. since changed hands recently, the service is predominantly surely.....unless the old landlady is on duty (as she occasionally helps out). Dont ask any of the young lasses behind the bar to top up your short-measured pint!! They cant/dont understand or care it seems! food is excellent, furnishings and fittings are splendid. trending towards becoming a youngsters lager pub tho....shame. only a 7 now, was a 9. alehouses - 24 Jul 2007 11:54 |
| From the outside the pub looks neglected with peeling paintwork on the window frames and a rotten pub sign hanging over the corner of the building, the inside is little better, broken and wonky chairs, wobbly plank tables, pictures on the walls falling out of their frames but it all adds up to a unique atmosphere. The food alone is always worth the slight detour from the nearby A303 and a CAMRA award hanging over the bar gives testament to the excellent beers which seem to change at every visit.Outside the pub has a pretty if uninspiring garden with patio area. anonymous - 11 Oct 2006 23:42 |
