The Railway Tavern, Crouch End

Full of pretentious idiots. Drinks very expensive. Dark and depressing. Music (when they bother to play some) just as depressing.

The Fox Public House, Palmers Green

Horrible place. Toilets are a mess. Rowdy crowd in here. Drinks are reasonably priced. Wouldnt mind dropping back in if they cleaned it up a bit (and some of the customers also!)

The Wishing Well, Palmers Green

Small, pokey bar. Staff are so up their own a***. very unfriendly. All seem to think they're in a modelling contest. More bothered about flirting with punters than they are serving. Wont be in there again!

The Hope and Anchor, Hornsey

Absolute dump! Been there a few times (was dragged in). No words for the place. Actually waste of a building!

Three Compasses, Hornsey

Been to this pub twice and each time I am greeted by rude and unenthusiastic staff. Other reviewers disagree, maybe there is a special welcome for 'regulars'. Not bothering with this place again. Depressing overall and the grumpy staff dont help

Gertie Brownes, East Finchley

I have been to this pub a few times and I have really enjoyed each time. Unfortunately that all changed when I dropped in last time. For one, the price of beer has gone up. I understand all prices have gone up but this bar is in East Finchley, not central London. In particular, the bottles of beer were extorniate. There also appears to be a big change in staff and not for the better. One male (Irish) barman in particular really stood out as being rude and aggressive. When we approached the bar he had a face like thunder, without any greeting, just said 'what do you want'. While my wife was deciding what she wanted, he stood behind the bar huffing and looking to the ceiling. This young man is not cut out for barwork and there is a obvious difference between current and previous staff. This wont stop me from going into Gerties but I wont be relishing it. Shame.
