pop in yesterday afternoon too watch the cricket for a hour not too bad Pub but like most been ruined by modernisation bar area is smaller than it was years ago I remember this Pub in the mid seventy's with the three separate bars etched glass windows and larger bar with glasses above bar just one big soulless room now with now . Biggest grip No Real Ale looks like Ale Pumps had so much dust on them don't think there been used since Strongers said there was none on Six moths ago. Alesonly - 1 Aug 2009 14:17
I popped into the fox with my husband last Bank holiday monday after not having been in there for many years.I must say I was pleasently surprised. The place has changed a vast amount since I was last there. It's nice, bright and airy ( made a change from my feet sticking to the floor when I used to go there) The barmaid who served us was very cheery for a bank holiday monday (we popped in not long after opening time) and we had a nice chat with her about how the pub had changed and she was quite clued up on local history as well so it was nice to find out a bit about how things had changed in my old stomping ground! She also recommended that we come back for the sunday carvery, and pop in of a weekend to see how things had changed! So this Bank holiday thats where you'll find me! irishprincess - 23 Apr 2009 14:57
Decided a trip to the Fox with the family was a must this weekend as I've heard so much about the roast dinners - well worth the money. The portions are very generous and before long the queue was out the door - always a good sign. Luckily we did beat the queue (early bird and all that) but all I can say is it is definitely worth the wait. Although a bit of a trek it is nice to know there is a family pub that does good food in the area. A very buzzing, happening place - floor staff were whizzing around to make sure everyone was being looked after - overall very pleasant staff although I am disappointed to say the one girl working behind the bar with the 2 boys seemed to have some issues with my partner when she was getting our drinks - all a bit of an effort for her - maybe she was having a bad day!!! Shame one person had to take the shine off. Loved the pub and will be back. MickeyWhite49 - 24 Mar 2009 15:43
all is not lost I had a drink in my old favorite the well which has gone to the dogs and was a little depressing that there wsa no crack to be had in palmers green anymore. Then was told to head up to murrys otherwise known as the fox and low and behold it was like the wishing well patrons had just moved there. very big not what im used to but after a few pints I wasn't long getting back into swing of things. lovely bar staff one lad socer was great crack. take note Christina! and to all that don't no Christina is landlady of the wishing well down the road. fair play mighty crack in the fox conner.henery - 23 Feb 2009 09:20
