It's been a pub since 1716 - can't say I remember it then but I used to come here a lot in the late 1960's and early 1970's when it really wasn't too special. Came here again recently and it hasn't improved - still no real ale! BobOs - 30 Aug 2008 14:04
What is going on????? All new staff yet again?????? Can't keep up with the different faces, however, not as friendly as the old staff from the time Mr Murray took over. Staff seem more interested in gathering at the end of the bar and do not seem bothered that customers are waiting to be served!! Not impressed!Except for one of the Boy's think his name is Soko who is on the ball. Nice to see that the Irish Girl who I think is now manager is still running the Sunday Carvery as she has a great way with the customers. poshie - 17 Jun 2008 16:24
Just to be clear- it's a 1000 times better now than it has been in about 10 years. London28 - 13 Jun 2008 12:46
mighty pub! continually good nights being had in there. still not sure what london28 is on about,do you think it was better when them two eegits had it or the present owner? have to say good, clean and well run. guinnesshead - 21 Apr 2008 17:38
Slick- I agree - I meant before it was turned into the Sports Pub, when that couple from Bristol owned it (Barry White & Mrs!) not in the recent past when it was full of wannabe gangsters and yobs. London28 - 17 Apr 2008 12:49
