The Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool

Fantastic pub with lots of different beers available (including foreign ones). There are also a wide variety of different seating areas. Rivals the Ship and Mitre in my opinion!

The Scotch Piper Inn, Lydiate

Slightly disappointed after visiting here - the interior is nicely olde worlde but the beer isn't really up to it. Only one available when I was there.

The Lamb and Flag, Oxford

Classic Oxford pub which is cosy and friendly. Good range of regulars (Spitfire, Betty Stoggs, etc.) at reasonable prices. Look out for the traditional 'drinking hole'! Very popular on Fridays and Saturdays, bridges the town-gown gap. All profits from the pub fund scholarships at St. John's College so drink as much as you can!

The Old Market Tavern, Altrincham

The Market Tavern has the best beer in Altrincham, and even has a range of Belgian beers to rival a couple of other establishments in town!

The Malt Shovells, Altrincham

Friendly and cheap although for better beer you should probably go to the Market Tavern. The quiz on Thursdays is usually well-attended.

The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool

This is a great pub - they had a beer festival on when I went so there was a very large range of their own beers at cheap prices. The only brew-pub in the area that I'm aware of.
