The White Hart, East Cowes

Oh dear is this place still open? This pub is located next to the East Cowes ferry terminal, but dont be tempted to in as this is a local pub for local people. On my visit I felt that I was intruding even though I am local! One end of the bar smelled like an open sewer! No thanks, never again. Try the Ship and Castle or the Lifeboat.

The Chequers Inn, Rookley

I have always found this pub okay, I agree the large rear family room is impersonal. The back bar is a good place to chat to the locals. Meals have always been good quality. The Childrens play are is very good. Beer quality her is very good also.

The Dairymans Daughter, Arreton

I have visited this pub many times. The menu is vast, I have tried something different each time I have visited and have not been dissapointed. The owner takes a genuine interest in the customers, On each occasion he has come to the table and ask if everything is to our satisfaction. Which it always is.
The ale is kept very well and there is a good selection with local Beers. This is my favourite, this is where you should take that someone who is special.

The Bargemans Rest, Newport

Nice Pub in a good location next to the river, Great to pop in on those sunny Summer afternoons and have a cold real ale on the front decking watching the boats.
I ate here some time ago with 5 friends, the food is not anything special, my friend had to send his meal back as the meat tasted off. The pub gets quite busy in the evenings with people eating, I think its a case of being handy and away from the town rather than being a good meal.
