Belushis, Covent Garden

Back-packer magnet bar which entices Antipodeans, foreign students and tourists. Bar staff Sunday night were complacent and unbothered by customer needs- apart from bloke with the tattoos and beard who seemed to be left alone, isolated to work the bar as his colleague was more interested in mucking around with 'their' own in house juke box, playing 90's heavy rock overly loud solely for his own need and barley bothering to get off his stool to attend to the two obvious groups of party goers who frustratingly had to wait single file to be served?

The Zetland Arms, South Kensington

Undoubtedly the worst food we've ever been served up in a pub. Diabolical 'micro waved' re-heated beef roast. Liberty takers. Avoid at all costs.

The Warrington Hotel, Maida Vale

Featured famously in The Sweeney during the episode 'Night Out'. No drunken Scotish football fans in there now through.

The Enterprise, Chalk Farm

Well run and friendly pub creaming off disgrumpeled punters formally from Good Mixer and Lock Tavern. Quick service at bar. Recommend drinking here if your planning on going to Roundhouse.

The Mayflower, Rotherhithe

Highly priced historical local 'reformed' to cater for their 'new' punters who'll plot up and pay forty rubs for a meal and a score for wine. That said excellent draft ales and cosy little layout. Only pub in Britain with licence to sell American postage stamps. Fact! View better at 'Angel' but beer and atmosphere unrivalled at Mayflower.

The Phoenix, Oxford Circus

Super friendly and always polite bar staff (two of which are absolute cracking sorts) serve good choice of beers and wines to mixed 20s/early thirty something's spread across a very cosy and tidy top floor. Terrific 70's rock and country nights in their basement with a drinking licence until 2am. Basement bar does get a tad crowded on club nights so hop-scotch upstairs prior to closing for refills. Excellent 'back street' (facing Cavendish Square) place to relax when weighed down after Sat/Sun/Xmas shopping excursions.
