Good meeting place in Oxford circus, varied mix of customers all surprisingly friendly for a west end pub. Service was a bit slow, but the Taylors Landlord was in excellent condition. Monday night is comedy night in the cellar bar and great value for only a fiver. Good range of ciders on draught too. wellinformed - 2 May 2008 14:31
Nearly always busy in here and at least they do decent cider for a London pub (Westons and Addlestones on draught), but previous reviewer is right - service is far too slow. Haven't tried the food - not sure if I will! JKIRK - 2 Feb 2008 16:57
Gone totally downhill due to the utterly inept management who choose to completely under-staff the bar. The obviously incapable duty manager also seemed to have a fear of actually serving anyone, thus leaving a single solitary member serving the entire establishment. Also witnessed food being left on the counter for easily 5 minutes. A friends food (chicken) was raw in the middle. My veggie burger was slushy and slightly burnt. Avoid at all costs, at least until they fire the manager. urbanite55 - 7 Jan 2008 00:02
great bitter range, spitfire and black sheep were well kept and well pulled, reasonably priced as well, even my local in the north charges more for a pint of spitfire! not tried the food but heard its good from plenty who live and work in this location. definitely worth a slight detour if you're doing the oxford street shopping bit martinm - 8 Aug 2007 13:31
