The Wellington, Strand

Small pub with 3 real ales on in reasonable codition. Was not impressed that the barman used a glass that was already sitting under the tap with some beer in. Very loud and intrusive music playing continuously - very annoying. I won't be coming here again.

The Bell Inn, Hampton

After a very dodgy period a few months ago, where there was a serious lack of real beer and many complaints, I thought it time to give it another go. I understand that another manager has been installed. I have been in twice this week and had several excellent pints of Naked Ladies and Wandle. Although I havent eaten there for a good while, the couple next to me at the bar were praising the food, so maybe it's back up to scratch. I will tentatively give this pub a positve review and hope a few more people review it

The Evening Star, Brighton

Absolutely superb - just what a real boozer should be, with an amazing selection of interesting well kept beers.
Will certainly be heading here again when I'm next in Brighton

The Dukes Head, Tadworth

Went here on Monday evening to meet up with a group of friends. Very nice pint of KT20 though Fullers and Youngs was available. Friendly competent staff and the burger I ordered was well cooked and tasty. Would certainly go again.

The Five Horseshoes, Maidensgrove

Visited Monday lunchtime. There were perhaps a dozen or so customers. The Brakspears was in fine form and the 3 course lunch for £13.95 was well cooked and excellent value for money. My only criticism would be that the vegetable portions were a bit small. I've been going here on and off for several years now and the food and beer has always been of a high standard and the staff polite and competent. Certainly worth my 70 mile round trip

The Dukes Head, Hampton

The pub has been closed for about 7 weeks, but it has reopened recently with a new licensee. The pub is a bit spartan at the moment with only 2 real ales on. Hopefully they will get some pictures up, get some interesting beers in and start doing food

The The Old Monk Exchange, Westminster

I occasionally pop in in the evening for a couple of beers and a bite to eat. Good selection of well kept ales and the food is good quality pub style.
Although the pub is entirely underground, it is fairly open with some nice vaulted arches on one side. This is the fith time I have been here in the last few months and it has always been consistently good

The Crown, Pishill

In short, excellent
Stopped here for lunch on a weekday, and although it was reasomably busy it all went smoothly. The staff were friendly and professional, the food was very good, the Brakspears was well kept.
My only criticism would be that the portions of vegtables were a bit on the small side hence I'll only give it an 8 instead of a 9.
There are building works going on there at the moment but don't let that put you off
Highly recommended

The Railway Bell, Hampton

Just popped in for a quick one after the refurbishment. Quite pleasant with lots of historic photos of Hampton but 3.50 for a pint of Brakspears bitter was a bit steep. I don't think I'll make it my local. At least it's almost next to Monaf's - the best Indian Restaurant for miles around

The Jolly Coopers, Hampton

Old and interesting with lots of character. Very much a locals pub and tends to be busy. Has a small restaurant at the back which serves excellent food. Good selection of well kept beers but they are on the pricey side. The new rather tacky pub sign is out of character with the frontage.

The Dukes Head, Hampton

My favourite pub in Hampton. Yes, it is a bit quirky and old-fashioned but it has genuine atmosphere. The drinks are reasonably priced and they sell beers from Twickenham Fine Ales - yum! Definately a locals pub but everyone is very friendly. It's always a pleasant experience coming here.

The Rising Sun, Highmoor

Visited on a Monday lunchtime. An attractive pub in a very pleasant setting. The beer was excellent, the staff were friendly and competent, but the food whilst reasonably priced was rather ordinary.
The rib-eye steak was not a very good cut, was undercooked and the garlic butter on it was so strong it obliterated the flavour. A couple of extra veggies on the plate would have been nice rather than one tomato cut in two. The ham salad was generous but the potato salad in it was crunchy! The sweets were good but pricey.
I would like to try it again in the evening but I suspect it is likely to be busy.

The Five Horseshoes, Maidensgrove

Went there on a wet Monday lunchtine in November. It was suprisingly busy and I'm glad I booked. The Brakspears was excellent as was the food, though the steak whilst very tasty was rather over salted. The staff were competent and professional. Slightly on the expensive side but overall an enjoyable experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending this pub

The Express Tavern, Kew Bridge

Probably the most civilised pub in Brentford. You can always rely on a good pint of Youngs or Bass. There are usually 1 or 2 guest beers on (generally Scottish) unfortunately, the quality of these can be somewhat variable, possibly due to lack of throughput. Usually full of locals and staff from the steam museum nearby. Excellent homemade food available except on Sunday and Tuesday evenings. No fruit machines, jukebox or pool table though there is a piano if you fancy a tune or a singalong. There is generally a quiz on Monday evenings. My only criticism is that the gents toilets are often quite smelly. In short, an excellent family run pub and only 100 yards from Kew Bridge Station
