| Agree with all this. Only been in a handful of times, but each time I was impressed with the friendliness of the landlord/landlady and regulars. Beer in good condition (though maybe a fraction too warm for my taste - I prefer it cellar cool rather than room temperature), the rare bar billiards and the cute, compact layout and decor make this the best pub in the area for me (since the decline of the Lion in Teddington) Teddy_Boy - 3 Aug 2008 12:21 |

| Chef was away, but five beers on (albeit that one of them was Courage Best) - we had decent pints of Brakspear and Summer Lightning. Landlord friendly. And, blessed be, a bar billiards table. We'll be back when the chef is. bloodnok - 5 Apr 2008 18:32 |

| This is a rare specimen these days, a proper pub with a proper landlord who appears to always be in attendance and is welcoming, without being false or effusive. The beer is excellent and the atmosphere generally pleasant and relaxing. lyeemoon - 26 Jan 2008 20:05 |
