Drove past this pub yesterday on the way to Stonor Park so decided to make an impromptu stop. Describes itself as 15th century but Grade II listing says it is 17th & 18th century building of brick and flint rubble with characterful interior including wooden benches/settles, flagstone floor, half pine-panelled, half red-painted walls (decorated with old photos and advertising posters) and beamed ceilings. Listed in the 2015 GBG and the Brakspear Bitter was in fine condition. Also on sale was Rebellion's IPA. We didn't stay long but it was a worthwhile visit. Doesn't stay open past 3 or 3.30pm (or Sunday evenings) so check opening hours first.

superb building, nestled in a valley, a huge stunning brick pub, with outdoor seating that looks onto the fields and wood on the other side of the road. some accomodation buildings attached, but other than that, no neighbours within sight of the pub, so it feels like you are truelly remote.

a wonderfull place to sit in the sun and enjoy various oxfordshire brakespear beers and a really decent pint of Rebellion IPA from marlow down the road.

food was reasonable, service was great, beer was wonderfull, setting near unbeatable. great place.

Despite this being a lovely old english pub the setting lets it down. It is on quite a busy country road with no real garden to speak of - we walked over on a beautiful Saturday and felt a little let down by the wooden decked area (garden). The food is average - it will fill a gap if necessary. Service was average to unfriendly.

It is very rare in this day and age to find a traditional English Country pub which is exactly what The Crown is. The pubs interior is excellent and it is spotlessly clean. There is a great choice of drinks and they regularly change their guest ales (which are superbly kept!). The food offers excellent value for money and is always delicious. The last time I visited was a busy Sunday lunch, I ordered the roast which was delicious and my girlfriends were equally delighted with their choices too. The staff are all super efficient and polite. The Landlord Lucas and the Manager Andy are always very welcoming and really do look after you throughout your visit. If you have read through my whole review then you will probably see that I cannot fault The Crown in anyway! I really do recommend you visit :-) My girlfriends and I cannot wait to visit again soon

In short, excellent
Stopped here for lunch on a weekday, and although it was reasomably busy it all went smoothly. The staff were friendly and professional, the food was very good, the Brakspears was well kept.
My only criticism would be that the portions of vegtables were a bit on the small side hence I'll only give it an 8 instead of a 9.
There are building works going on there at the moment but don't let that put you off
Highly recommended
