The Sweeney's Bar, Chelmsford

The first time I went in this pub a drunken Irish man propped up at the bar informed me in no uncertain terms that they shouldn't be serving English people in here. There was me thinking it was in the middle of Chelmsford!
However, I've been a few times since without any problems so I can only presume his attitude isn't the norm for this pub, which is a decent boozer despite being a little cramped.

The Gun, Shoreditch

Decent East End boozer, just a shame the toilets haven't been replastered since Jack the Ripper was using them.

The Shooting Star, Liverpool Street

One of my favourite pubs in the city. A large traditional Boozer with decent beer and food. If you don't like this pub then you'll probably feel more at home in the Pitcher & Piano around the corner.

The Cheshire Cheese, Tower Hill

Excellent pub to go for a few quick pints at lunchtime. The food service can be a bit inconsistent and one of the barmen is quite temperamental (I think it may be the same guy referred to in an earlier review). My mates and I just know him as the "Angry Man" and seems to resent having to serve customers.
Apart from that though a decent Boozer, well worth a visit if you're ever in the Tower Hill area.
