The Porterhouse, Covent Garden

I've been here many times and love the atmosphere and live music but had to wait for over an hour for food the other night, the response of the waiter and manager was absolutely ridiculous. We we offered a drink after taking the matter up four times with staff, should have got my money back and left. May drink there but sure as hell won't eat there again! Used to score 8/10 but now 4/10.

The Spirit Bar Cafe, Tooting

This place is, without doubt, the best drinking hole near Tooting Broadway tube. Pro's: friendly staff, promotions, big open spaces, football/sports, outside seating, 400yrds to Broadway tube. Cons: beer is a bit pricey for tooting. Overall 8/10, worth a visit for a couple of pints.

The Kings Head, Tooting

Beautiful old pub, a fantastic building with some extraordinary features and real history. Shame to hear aobut the football though. I found the barstaff to be very friendly and the beer was'nt too badly priced. Overall 6.5/10, worth a visit but the palce could do better for itself!

Hoochimama's Bar Bistro, Tooting

There are far worse places to drink in Tooting Broadway. Pro's: cheap magners cider, cheap cocktails, close to Broadway tube. Con's: incompetent lazy staff, bad furniture, and too smokey. Overall 5/10, if its a quick beer you're after its worth popping in, but if you're after food and decent drinking session give it a miss.

The Smoke Bar And Diner, Tooting

A real gem of a bar and one that thankfully demonstrates the clear cut difference between Tooting Bec and Tooting Broadway! Pro's: Good clean lagers aplenty, good music, comfy sofa's, reservable tables, extremely close to tube and thus Balham/Clapham nightlife. Cons: Claustrophobic, small (non-functional) toilets, pricey beer/wine, slow barstaff. Overall: 8/10, worth a visit.

The Rose and Crown, Tooting Bec

My local. Not the brightest of pubs, but clean, safe and fun. On the plus side: good clean beer, big screen for football, nice management/barstaff, good mix of people (usually), and hilarious kareoke complete with Elvis. On the down side: Chelsea fans aplenty, beer is'nt cheap and they don't do any munchies. Overall: 8/10

JJ Moons, Tooting

Tooting Broadways finest! Unless your accustomed to packing a knife-proof vest, mace and a nightstick, just don't bother. Sooner it shuts, the brighter Tooting will be!
