St Georges Vault, Cheltenham

A nice little place with a great jukebox and the staff are friendly. The last time we were in there, however, a scammer came in trying to distract my other half while looking for my handbag, the guy looked so out of place we could have done with some intervention from the staff.

O'Neills, Cheltenham

Very nice Guiness (as expected) and not too bad a crowd in there as most only stop for a few on their way into town. BUT do not be caught out towards last orders, the bouncers are extremely rude and literally chase you out the door some 5 mins after time, even if you've only just bought your pint they make you leave it behind.

The Frog and Fiddle, Cheltenham

Mostly a student pub, takes ages to get served but not a bad place to watch the footy.

Copa, Cheltenham

The experience depends on when you visit, generally quiet during the weekday evenings but manic (and full of chavs) on friday/saturday nights. The music is awful and deafeningly loud which is probably why most people try to sit outside.

One major fault is every time I go in I always ask for the Kriek they have on tap, but the last 5 or 6 times I've been they always say they're out - despite STILL advertising it. Very irritating.

The Brook Inn, Redditch

Beer is ok here (they usually have a guest ale) but have eaten here a couple of times in the past year and the food/service is terrible. I've had a hair in my meal and a bottle of corked wine in past visits. Recently went for sunday lunch with family and we were sat waiting for someone to take our order for an hour (late sunday afternoon when the place was nearly dead). 12 for a lamb shank that had come from the smallest lamb in history. We weren't offered anything to go with our desserts (custard, cream etc) and had to ask for it. Table, cutlery and floor were very dirty. Too few staff around, there were periods of over 10 mins when you didn't see anyone, and all were inexperienced kids. It would be quicker to cook your own sunday lunch at home, and a lot less stressful.

The Man of Kent Ale House, Rochester

My favourite pub to visit in Rochester. The landlord really knows his stuff. We were in last week, and my friend (who hates beer) was offered two samples of Strawberry and Raspberry Belgian fruit ales by him to try and convert her. It obviously worked, she enjoyed several half-pints of it over the evening. Not many landlords would do that for you!
