| We had a similar experience to Charmer12. We didn't eat but the place was really odd. the staff totally inexperienced. We decided against the food for that reason and just went home. It seems to be a pattern. Take an old comfortable pub, gut it, put on "gastro" food and then staff it with silly kids who don't seem to know what is going on. Why is it that staff no longer seem to take an interest, smile, be polite, serve quickly and in order and keep the place clean? Is there a special recruitment agency for hormonal, lazy or dopey people? It's not rocket science. Tancred1 - 17 Feb 2010 09:12 |
| Beer is ok here (they usually have a guest ale) but have eaten here a couple of times in the past year and the food/service is terrible. I've had a hair in my meal and a bottle of corked wine in past visits. Recently went for sunday lunch with family and we were sat waiting for someone to take our order for an hour (late sunday afternoon when the place was nearly dead). £12 for a lamb shank that had come from the smallest lamb in history. We weren't offered anything to go with our desserts (custard, cream etc) and had to ask for it. Table, cutlery and floor were very dirty. Too few staff around, there were periods of over 10 mins when you didn't see anyone, and all were inexperienced kids. It would be quicker to cook your own sunday lunch at home, and a lot less stressful. Charmer12 - 7 Dec 2009 11:04 |
