It's a busy place and yes the service can be poor, nice decor and comfortable, if you can get a seat.
Expensive? yes. not the place for a session!
Was confused as they had music playing over the football, so no one was really happy.

If you are looking for fancy food and polished service forget it
This is a REAL pub, real people and if it is your first visit, as it was mine a while ago, yes they will be wary of you, give it time and you will get a welcome.
beer is ok, outside area is pants tho

What a lovely pub. It maybe small but the service and beer is good. I started to call in on my way home from work, and the outside area is a godsend.
We went in last Sunday to watch the football, and the manager and staff did a stirling job. Shame about the result!
We have now decided that this is our local, and pray that it doesn't become one of the many pubs that are closing down.

How does this place win the CAMRA awards? The beer is fine, but it is only McMullens, no guest.
The welcome is not great, but then I am not retired yet.
Its clean and tidy, worth a one of visit just for the experience
