Ye Old Elm Tree, Durham

Change of management and re-fit rumoured soon.
Well overdue, it was only the stale beer that was holding the carpet together!

The Walkabout, Durham

CLOSED...

...and unlikely to be missed, it was a dive!

The Swan and Three Cygnets, Durham

Just had a major re-furb, still one of the cheapest pubs in town, if you like Sam Smiths.
I like it, and drink there regularly, but it has it's drawbacks.

The Shoes, Durham

Recently re-opened, after a long closed spell.

Friendly staff, reasonable choice of drinks, including 2 or 3 Real ales.
Beer garden, piped music, Darts and Dominoes teams, quiz night, poker night, accomodation, punters club.

A welcome reprieve from oblivion!

The Victoria Hotel, Durham

Still one of the best Pubs in the country!

Excellent range of beer and whisky.

Friendly staff and locals, great accomodation and a world beating breakfast if you are staying.

O'Neills Irish Bar, Durham

Same pub, same beers, good, same friendly staff, but they have changed the name to "SHAMROX".

WHY?

Dun Cow, Durham

Excellent Pub, lovely Beer, charming staff.

Folk Musicians meet here on a Thursday evening, well worth a visit if you like that sort of thing, steer clear if you want peace and quiet.

Tap and Spile, Framwellgate Moor

Nice Pub, large selection of excellent ale, crazy but helpful staff, shame no food any more, shame about the distance out of town!

But well worth a visit!

The Half Moon, Durham

Durham Brewery - Prior's Gold on today, very palatable. A regular selection of this local firm's brews plus Bass, Taylor's Landlord and a n other makes this a good pub to visit in central Durham.
Nice butties and a comfortable Beer Garden, if the weather is clement?
