I took my mother out for Sunday lunch, she choose a salmon salad, I had ham,egg & chips. Took over half an hour to arrive, when it did the fish was not cooked and my eggs where over cooked and stone cold. Got my money back. Beer good, wine very expensive per glass. biggles01 - 6 Aug 2009 06:51
Am moving into the area and found a standard refurbished Young's pub. So good beer, edible food, reasonably good service. True the lighting wasn't exciting, and Oscar Wilde didn't make an appearance (see previous comments), but it did do the usual things a Young's pub does. Nice garden too, for a mid-junction pub. owenjones - 11 Jul 2009 23:19
I happened to be in the area tonight and so popped in, haven't been here for some years. The interior is dissapointing, large pub with a lot of different corners but the same bland lighting across the whole place lets it down. I was very impressed with the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. I managed to get fed quite late on - basic but wholesome pub grub at reasonable prices - and the beer was very good indeed. I understand that its just changed hands, so not a bad start in my opinion. I would visit again - but only if in the area. LordTosh - 18 Feb 2009 23:25
A big expensive hellhole of a place, frequented by narrow minded chavs and football types. A good place to go if you fancy a drunken brawl. To be avoided. airhairthere - 28 Jan 2009 14:23
just read last few comments and i have to agree!! Not drunk in there a great deal over the years because a bit old fashioned and clicky. (think of "the slaughtered lamb' in American warewolf etc) hahaha BUT, now i like......spesh tall guy behind jump. About time a pub employed a bit of eye candy for the ladies!! AND he is a good barman. Almost too good to be true!! Having said that, they are ALL good. The grub is worth a go too. Looks pricey but, you get wot you pay for and this is gooooooooooood shiiiiiiiiiit!!! Give it a try....you will be surprised!! maryann - 21 Nov 2008 19:24
