Popped in here after work to meet a couple of friends before we play crib, good pint of Youngs special,a little expensive but worth it for a good pint.

Largish pub with central island bar. Youngs beer, my point was fine. Popular with cross section of locals. All in all, not bad

I took my mother out for Sunday lunch, she choose a salmon salad, I had ham,egg & chips. Took over half an hour to arrive, when it did the fish was not cooked and my eggs where over cooked and stone cold. Got my money back. Beer good, wine very expensive per glass.

Am moving into the area and found a standard refurbished Young's pub. So good beer, edible food, reasonably good service. True the lighting wasn't exciting, and Oscar Wilde didn't make an appearance (see previous comments), but it did do the usual things a Young's pub does. Nice garden too, for a mid-junction pub.

I happened to be in the area tonight and so popped in, haven't been here for some years.

The interior is dissapointing, large pub with a lot of different corners but the same bland lighting across the whole place lets it down.

I was very impressed with the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. I managed to get fed quite late on - basic but wholesome pub grub at reasonable prices - and the beer was very good indeed.

I understand that its just changed hands, so not a bad start in my opinion.

I would visit again - but only if in the area.

A big expensive hellhole of a place, frequented by narrow minded chavs and football types. A good place to go if you fancy a drunken brawl.
To be avoided.

just read last few comments and i have to agree!! Not drunk in there a great deal over the years because a bit old fashioned and clicky. (think of "the slaughtered lamb' in American warewolf etc) hahaha BUT, now i like......spesh tall guy behind jump. About time a pub employed a bit of eye candy for the ladies!! AND he is a good barman. Almost too good to be true!! Having said that, they are ALL good. The grub is worth a go too. Looks pricey but, you get wot you pay for and this is gooooooooooood shiiiiiiiiiit!!!

Give it a try....you will be surprised!!

The pub, at long last, has had a complete makeover. Looks really good. Almost wine barish. Still the same old faces tho which makes it still a good local boozer. The other regular thing is the sweaty armpits!!! Apart from the obvious decor, the other thing thats changed for the better is the assistant manager. makes a bloody change to have someone behind the bar who knows exactly wot there doin. Always polite, knows what the regulars drink and on top of that, nice looking!! Well done Youngs for employing such a top bloke.

This is a fairly large Young's pub with a mixed clientele, hence the previous comments about swaety armpits. Food is available until 8pm, but the interior is in need of an overhaul as it is getting quite shabby in places. The beer is fine, and I found the bar staff, who were all young ladies, very pleasant.

LOVELY TRADITIONAL FAMILY PUB SERVING GOOD ENGLISH FOOD WITH SOME FANTASTIC CHEFS SPECIALS. ALL FOOD IS HOME MADE AND IS JUST AS GOOD AS MUMS (IF NOT BETTER!) LANDLORDS ARE A YOUNG COUPLE WHO, AS WELL AS THE STAFF, ARE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY & WELCOMING. THEY SHOW A GOOD SELECTION OF SPORTING EVENTS ON THEIR PROJECTOR SCREEN TV AND HAVE A MASSIVE HEATED OUTDOOR AREA THAT CATERS FOR SMOKERS & NON-SMOKERS ALIKE. OVERALL A LOVELY PUB WITH A WARM & WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE

nice enough pub. Very spacious - probably because most people are outside having a fag!! Having said that, its definatley got the best smokin area around! Bar staff let it down though....they either cant speak English or they have a bad BO prob!! The thing I dont get is...have you seen the guard dog??? its a Yorshire Terrier!!

Yes this pub is a bit stinky... maybe the combination of stale beer, smoke and sweat. What makes me laugh is they have a tent out the back for non-smokers! If this policy continues the pub will be empty on July 1st !

If you want to go back in time go this pub. Full of smoke, sweaty arm pits and beer bellies, it reminds you of the late sixties or early seventies. You can even expect Alf Garnett to walk through the door or dream that your on a set for the Sweeney. There is nothing wrong with the beer or service, if a little brash, but I cannot work out what the Chinamen with a demented grin, is doing in the corner. He never buys a drink.
