| A nice old traditional street corner pub, now one space on the ground floor with a small fairly ornate island bar. Wooden boarded floors, some exposed brickwork, covered in a variety of mirrors, stained glass screens. Other decor is a mix of old photographs, portraits etc, seating is pretty traditional plus some stools at drinking shelves at the front window. A TV over the corner entrance was showing some rugby highlights show. A friendly welcome and I liked the feel of the place. Clientele at lunch was a mix of suits and locals, but its probably far enough from The City to avoid its worst aspects. Further seating upstairs was not visited by myself. Good quality Fullers Ales, I had the Chiswick, but there were Pride, ESB, Discovery and Porter on too. Bunhill Fields Cemetery opposite is worth a wander around too. Maldenman - 18 Jan 2010 18:09 |
| Fine little corner pub, with an interesting interior and about the smallest island bar that I have ever seen. Full range of Fuller's ales, and although it is perhaps not quite the season for Discovery this beer was on top form. Well worth seeking out. rpadam - 31 Oct 2009 22:25 |
