Fairly ordinary, unremarkable pub tucked away in the back streets of Mayfair. Nothing unusual in the way of ales – GKIPA, Spitfire and London Pride. I had the Pride, which was not brilliant, but drinkeable. The only features worth mentioning are the big fireplace (gas fired) that forms something of a central feature, and the tiled coving with an appropriate grape motif. Good enough pub to drop into for a pint if you are passing (which is how I happened to visit), but I don’t think that I would go out of my way to visit again. RexRattus - 21 Jul 2008 23:22
Refurbished recently, took out the nice comfy sofas to be replaced with uncomfortable high stools, changed the lighting, the candles were so much better. It was dead quiet last Friday. Atmosphere all but gone. I have never known it like that in 17 years. Why did they have to mess with it? anonymous - 2 Sep 2007 18:12
Much better under the new management. Nice little touches like candles and great food. Toilets checked every hour. Can get a little busy on a Friday so get there early for a seat. anonymous - 18 Mar 2007 17:10
A nice find on one of the back streets along from Regent Street. Went in around 8 on a Friday night and it was nicely full with a good mix of people. Nice atmosphere and definitely would be a place worth returning to. anonymous - 24 Apr 2006 20:00
Good find. Tudor exterior. Cosy interior with Fire and sofas. Bunches of grapes on the cornicing. Seemed to have a comedy club upstairs... bigaerials - 15 Feb 2006 17:08
