It is a lovely, privately owned local. At little out of place on MOrning Lane just off of Mare street... caught in cluster of modern buildings (like Tesco across the street) but, definitely a neighborhoody crowd. Darts, b-days, football, special occasions, drink specials...

There is live music Mondays, Fridays, Saturday (kinda loud and rockus) and Sunday trad jazz afternoons.
The last Wednesday of every month there is straight ahead, or modern jazz.

All in all, part of that well loved breed, PROPER LOCAL, a rarity these says

Don`t really know why i like this place so much. The beer is fine, no interesting choices however and there never seem to be any dolly bird barmaids.
I guess it just fits my idea of what a proper pub should be like, friendly and unpretentious.

My friend reckoned this place was a bit scary, but I thought it was fine, and on a sunny summer's day a seat out front is makes for very pleasant drinking indeed.

Decent pint of Pride, lively in the evening but not "in your face".
Friendly staff, I like :)
