Visited this as a late Thursday afternoon (6ish) meeting point with some mates - not overly busy with 'suits' and Charlotte Street and 'Noho' is a pleasant area. A good, unspoilt interior and the staff seemed okay to me.

Rude staff, plastic glasses on a Friday night and the toilets are flooded with !!!!

Well known Sam Smiths pub in Fitzrovia that apparently used to be a former haunt of artists and writers up to the 1960's.

I recently paid what was probably my first visit since when I did this pub in the 1970's due to it appearing in the Evening Standard Guide to London Pubs.

Nowadays, it's a not unpleasant typical Sam's pub - no music etc - with some interesting pictures of the pub and its patrons in days long gone.

There's also a small downstairs bar.

No real ale - Sam Smiths fizzy OBB is £ 1.88p.

In contrast to previous reviewers, I found the bar staff positively effusive and welcoming by London standards

Have never been 2 a pub where the staff are so rude

I really, really hate this pub. I hate it so much, this is now the second review I've written. The beer (Sam Smiths) is poor - there is no real ale on tap. The staff are astonishingly unfriendly and unhelpful, and service is glacially slow.

Avoid.
