I don't like the Cat and Mutton that much. It's quite up its own arse, really, quite expensive for what it is, and the food is OK, but not up to what they charge for it. The staff are OK too, if not amazing, but to be honest the whole place just feels a bit like a bunch of up-market wankers who've bought up swathes of newly-gentrified East not realising they're getting ripped off because they've got more money than sense and feel like they're really living and mixing with the real people, except of course the real people can't come in because they can't afford the high prices. Oh. How strange. igor - 9 Oct 2008 20:48
Broadly terrible, specifically depressing. The decor has less imagination than the punters. I remember watching them ripping out the rather nice old interior a few years back only to replace it with, well, some ugly wooden tables....and nothing else. Planner_21 - 17 Jun 2008 14:17
Jaw-droppingly rude staff. £3.60 for a pint of flat lager. Avoid. obvius - 9 May 2008 16:56
Worst/best thing about this pub are the people in it - if they did another series of Nathan Barley these would be the characters in it. You'll be hard pressed to find a bunch of jokers taking themselves more seriously as Shoreditch continues to haemorrhage into the surrounding areas. matski - 26 Apr 2008 09:38
this is not a pub, more like a restaurant or hang out for "artists" . avoid unless you like poor service, pretentious people and staff, this represents the worst types of people to move into hackney. hackneye8 - 20 Mar 2008 20:09
