The Crosse Keys, Bank

I had to give this place a very high rating as it has -
- stunning building
- enormous range of fantastic ales, in great nick (based on what I had)
- good food (again based on my meal)
There are some amazing places to go in London but it is easy to spend a fortune so it's nice to go to a place like this that is still really nice but not so heavy on the wallet.

The Scarbrough Hotel, Leeds

I only had moderate expectations for this pub and was very pleasantly surprised, by the quality of the food and also by the range of quality of the cask ale. To eat I had a beetroot and goats cheese tartlet which was out of this world. To drink there seemed to be a very large range of cask ales, including a mild, which I had and was on good form. The place itself is a typical Nicholsan affair, smart, traditional, and the location is very close the train station.

The Anchor Tap, Tower Bridge

I'm always happy to visit a Sam Smiths pub, nice traditional boozers where the beer is always sold at a good price. This one was very quiet for early Saturday evening, though pleasant enough with a small outside seating area. You know what you are getting with a Sam Smiths - though I have had better Old Brewery Bitter at other London pubs.
