Really enjoyed our recent visit to this slightly quirky local. The excellent barman couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We went into the side bar to watch a live band: good sound quality. mozzzzzz - 17 Jan 2012 10:57
Three changing ales in this quirky pub. The Dark Star Espresso Stout was very good. Takes first prize for some of the best Halloween decorations that I have seen, the artwork on the pumpkins was outstanding. We only wish we could have stayed for the party. GazzaTheBeerMan - 31 Oct 2011 13:48
Woodforde's Wherry was on the hand pump at this quirky but very friendly boozer and wherry good it was too (sorry). Don't expect a slick operation at this pub, they seem to be facing problem after problem with malfuntioning tills and kitchen equipment but they carry on stoically and this is half the charm of the place. The staff are wonderful and I wish them every success. wilf880 - 10 Oct 2011 16:21
Popped in last weekend and will return soon. Excellent beer, very good food and a very friendly landlord. Huey - 19 Sep 2011 17:56 |
I went in as I had heard good things about this pub and it's wish to serve local beer. Unfortunately when myself and Mrs flowerdelivery arrived a number of the beers were off and food was not being served because they were out of stock. Shortly after we had managed to order a pint another couple came in and order archers and lemonade - You've guessed it, no archer, no malibu either. It really did feel as though were we sitting in a pub that was selling off the last of it's stock with no intention of ordering some more. I do hope this is wrong as from what I can gather has only been taken over in the past year and I would hate to see another real ale pub disappear flowerdelivery - 2 Sep 2011 13:57
