Mmmmmm
Not really my cup of tea, bit gastro for me.
That said, had quite a good night in here on Saturday.Guinness was ok, and the service was good.
Not sure about the bloke wearing Monkey boots though.
A big no no on people over 11

This has changed totally since my last visit about a year ago. It used to be an unpretentious and slightly scruffy local's pub. Greene King have now given it exactly the same rather over-corporatised pseudo-gastropub makeover that befell Ye Olde Black Lion (the Lion as now is) in West Hampstead. Very busy on the Sunday afternoon when I visited but lacking any real charm - there was also a rather noisy and dominating jazz band. I suspect a number of the former locals will have had to move on elsewhere as a result of the move upmarket, which always makes me uncomfortable. On the plus side, there is a beer garden (can't remember whether there was one before) but to be honest next time I'm in Crouch End I'll probably have a look at one or two of the other pubs.

Seems empty at times and lackes the atmosphere of The Queens and the Kings Head. There are better places to drink in crouch end

This pub has undergone some major changes since its refurbishment and thankfully it’s for the better.

This pub is huge its great for watching the World Cup games on the Plasma screens, during England’s games they have a large projector screen they wheel out, even better!

The beer garden is really nice for sitting in during the hot summer and it even has an aviary for some strange reason.

Which brings me onto the restaurant area, at first they had a very expensive menu that wasn't drawing any people in, but now it’s been redone with cheaper food and lots of bar snacks.

They've also started doing Jazz music on Sunday nights, this isn't going to be to everyone’s taste, and I had to stop myself from asking the Jazz band to stop playing when they asked if anyone had any requests. Well I was trying to watch the football!

This place for me is the best place to drink in Crouch End at the moment, plus I saw Sean Hughes in there the other week, watching Germany vs Poland, so that seals it for me.

Now if they'd just get some rock or indie bands in it'd be sorted.
