| It is nice to read that most of the residents of Ashtead are giving their support to this pub. It is a sad fact that in the past the manager's that have been put in have neglected their duties and let the reputation of the pub - as well as the interior go to ruin. It is excellent to see a manager like this new guy, Matt to be the driving force behind getting things fixed. Yes, the prices have gone up a little - but the turn around in the food which is now brilliant and the fact that he has helped to fix the smell so that now the pub smells great is just one of the turn around factors. Now we have regular entertainment and a crowd of regularly friendly faces drinking at the bar. | Management making a good effort to improve the pub from where it was at the beginning of the year. The Thai food is very good and the restaurant staff very friendly. The pub, though, is still sometimes understaffed, the barstaff still a bit more likely to stand and chat rather than see if there is anyone to serve and the whole bar area could do with a lick of paint. | I believe this pub has come on leaps and bounds of late, yes there it still some work to be done but its slowly getting there. The staff situation has greatly improved, gone are the grumpy students who seemed to once run the place now its a more mature group who are always happy and friendly! something we have not seen for a while pony2 - 25 Mar 2009 08:48 |
