It is big and spacious unlike some pubs. Can't really fault but it does attract a slightly rough crowd and is a by a busy road. Good choice of ales.

Well, I went here today and couldn't even get in a game of Pool. Some chavs were hogging the tables. So I guess there was beer, yes one real ale so lets go with the Old speckled Hen! And then I could watch Jeff Stelling reading out the football scores and then I left. Thats what life is like when you drink in a pub on your own!

The Wooden Bridge has never had a particularly good reputation in Guildford although previously I'd always found it tolerable - it's a large out-of-town pub dominated by screens for sport-watching, with notably cheap (and cheerful) food and drink. On a recent visit, though, I felt it was looking sad and in need of a lick of paint - the gents' toilets nearest the road were particularly poor. The service was unfriendly too. Could do a lot better.
