| Went in for a quick one on Sunday night. Nice atmosphere, and a surprisingly pleasant outside area considering it's bang on a busy road through Acton. They served a decent pint of Deuchars IPA. I'd like it more if they had more than one real ale on and if the rating box allowed I'd knock off half a point for the eye-watering price of the Deuchars they did have, but it won't stop me going back. | Normally when you think "station pub" you think of beggar-infested kips like the Hamilton Hall in Liverpol St or that grotty shithole at the end of Waterloo station. This place is the complete opposite. Walk up here from Acton park, over the level-crossing and you could almost imagine you're not in London. Ish. Not eaten here beyond a bowl of chips but the food looks nice. Beer is good and service friendly, if slightly harried on a Friday night (understandably it gets busy, it's popular). random_ranger - 23 May 2008 16:12 |
| Food was very good in the restaurant, and the pub is open and reasonably relaxed. I'd still say this is the best pub in the area for quality of food/drinks and service. mike_K_99 - 6 Sep 2007 16:58 |
| Had my 35th party in the upstairs dining room - absolutely brilliant time had by all! We had a whole range of canapes and bellini's and marguerita's! Food and drinks were of the highest order and great value. Every detail was planned by the owner/proprietor (who is a charming and very friendly woman) whose knowledge and suggestions were so very helpful. Prior to the party we were treated to a wine & canape tasting which allowed us to pick what we wanted and enjoyed. Highly recommended as a pub, restaurant and party venue. pete35 - 8 Jun 2006 12:39 |
| Staff are great – management quite unfriendly and a little weird! Food can be expensive, but most of the time tastes great. Upstairs has a great restaurant, and the service in general is good. Downstairs feels, well just like a train station waiting room. Great sunny outside area right next door to the station. Bottled beers galore, with a few lagers on draft. Wine is good, but the house wine is to be missed! Pay an extra £1 it’s well worth it. anonymous - 13 Apr 2006 19:34 |
