Greeted with a nice warm welcome. However the quality of the food was very poor. We had 2 carverys @ £9.25 each - the meat was fatty, they had run out of stuffing (when we asked if they had any they said no we've run out???) cold yorkshire and awful watery vegetables - very disappointing and the other 2 dishes we had choosen were no better. The pub and the service was good but is let down by the standard of its food!

It's almost a year since I last visited the spice ship and once again we had to wait for our meal, although this time only for about half an hour. If the restaurant had been busy this would have been acceptable, but there were very few customers when we ordered. The order was wrong when brought to the table, we had asked for no salad, but salad was on one of the plates. The drinks order, was also wrong, ordering a large coke and being given a small one. The desserts were also wrong, we all ordered cream and got ice cream. The food, once it arrived was very good, but this place needs to pay more attention to detail. This is a nice place to eat, but it really needs to get it's act together.

We had a meal on Saturday evening. Got there at 6, no one else in the restaurant and had to wait over half hour for salad, pasta and chicken nuggets! My son was in tears as they bought his meal out 5 mins after everyone elses. Very disappointed with the quality of the meal- I thought peas were meant to be green not grey!

Went to The Spice Ship early June 2011 expecting a great meal after reading good reviews. How wrong we were. The meal was poor. Undercooked fatty lamb chops and raw potatoes, dried out fajitas doused in dried oregano, frozen cod. Its a shame because its a lovely pub inside however the restaurant is in need of an overhaul. We expected better for the money we paid and we will therefore not be returning nor would we recommend the food.
