Gets very busy in the summer months, typically an hours wait for a table, therefore booking advisable. Pub is part of a "chain" and menu very "chainy". Food very good and average priced. Ideal weekend getaway with Travel Inn next door and pebble beach across the road. Debbies_Star - 29 Aug 2008 15:57
I have stayed at the Travel Inn next door twice now. We have breakfast every day at The Lodmoor and eat alot of our other meals there too. I find their food to be tasty and well presented and unless you go in during their very busy periods (yes they DO have them) then you get your food in a nice timely fashion. I just love their food...end of!!! The staff are, for the most part, friendly. Nick, with the pierced cheeks and weird ear piercings is really friendly, he doesnt seem it at first but he is. So all in all I would have to disagree with the people that decry the Lodmoor...its lovely! stephieack - 2 Mar 2008 17:40
OK for a beer if you are staying in the Travel Lodge next door, like I was, but the food is truly awful. Overpriced, small portions and worst of all lacking flavour. You'd get more enjoyment out of a bag of peanuts !! At least they are consistent as even the morning breakfast was of the same standard but with a terribly slow service added ! 15 minutes to serve up 2 rashers of bacon, a burnt sausage and one fried egg. Gimme a break ! As the guy below says "You have been warned!" anonymous - 24 Nov 2007 11:06
We stayed at the Premier Inn next door. Don't go here unless you are really tired and very hungry like we were. We went early Tuesday evening - it was dead. No real ales on offer at this time, only Tetley and Boddingtons etc. The food was over priced, tasteless, and my mate's burger was tough and burned. I was told by the barmaid that one of the veggies with my meal was unavailable, which I said wasn't a problem, the barmaid then came overand told me the potato dauphioise which was also meant to come with it was also unavailable! I was charged £7.99 for a tiny overcooked bit of tough chicken, four green boiled potatoes and some unpeeled undercooked carrots. It was not anything like what was originally described on the menu. You have been warned! localale - 2 Nov 2007 16:30
As bland and boring as every other Brewers Fayre. Very little to distinguish it from other Dorset 'pubs' run by the same chain such as the Bailey Bridge in Christchurch or the Holes Bay Inn in Poole. johnkn7 - 23 Feb 2007 19:42
