not a very good pub landlord likes to drink at the bar and hates to work no wonder the pubs up for sale and no buyers this was once a gem and the owners have run it in to the ground

Been in the are for a couple months and thought I try this out on a Sat night...initially it looks nice and respectable, there was a party going on, so I ordered a drink, which was very expensive, Im dinking away quitely, as the bar staff seemed to busy chatting amongst themselves, looking around etc. and felt totally out of place as it looked like an audition for chav factor! There were arguements and hassle from people in the party, near fights, swearing and all sorts...needless to say I drank up and moved on.

Hmmmmm been frequenting various drinking holes in Ashley X now for 15 years -The Brit was one of my favourites-once!
The new landlord seems to think a traditiobnal pub being turned into a warehouse (maybe he thinks it looks like a restaurant?) was a good idea.
Gone are the friendly locals and staff to be replaced by a mockney "bird" called sam,a goth who wont serve you(see below also) ,the locals are now non existent.
The landlord just sits in a corner with his mates ,berating anyone who criticises his establishment.
The beer garden is great-if you like drinking in a car park!!
the food has gone all gastro ,so a quick lunch out from work will cost you in the region of £30.
Real shame ,but dont think M the landlord will be there too long-bit like his few punters!

Went to watch the England v Wales game on Saturday 2nd
Feb, really good atmos, free bar snacks (cocktail sausages, chicken, scotch eggs Etc) massive bigscreen TV and another 40 incher tucked away in the comfy bit in the corner so easy to see game, really good day despite the result. From memory drinks didn't seem too expensive either.... great pub
