| Went there for a works xmas meal and the food was awful, they should be ashamed to charge £20 a head for school dinner type food that would make Jamie Oliver weep over his raw veg. On the plus side there is a good choice of lagers and it's not a bad place to go in the afternoon if the Triangle is closed, but it fills with the worst kind of loadsa money wannabes on weekend evenings - Avoid at these times. messy_drinker - 12 Dec 2007 12:46 |

| As my name suggests I go out most weekends and as much as I like the vibe of Le Bateau, they are definately some weaknesses to it. Most of the female staff seem to be employed on their looks rather than their ability to pour drinks, pour pints and be quick. There are one or two exceptions (I would say 2/10) as well as what seems the token male, who I have to say is excellent. He is quick, effecient and has the ability to remember your drink even if you only been in once or twice before! A real asset to the bar despite looking like MInty from Eastenders! I went in Friday and the bar was heaving, and this guy was like a whirlwind serving customers and not buckling under the pressure of a packed bar, even serving two or three people at a time. Again some staff seemed more bothered about there nail polish than the customers. I marked 6 out of 10 purely for the facr that the barman is a legend otherwise it would be much much lower! | Poncey and overrated. The Bar staff in here seem to forget the reason they have been employed i.e. to provide a decent service to customers. Great premises, just a shame it is let down by crap staff. Minesapint63 - 8 Jan 2007 08:00 |
