user reviews of the Carriers Arms, Watlington

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A pub you could easily overlook from the road but from its carpark it looks picturesque.
More to the point, the menu is just to my liking - good British fare - and at very reasonable prices.
We visited this pub 'by accident' when we found the one we intended to visit closed. The Carriers Arms was a real find and we immediately booked for a forthcoming Sunday lunch. We will be coming out to this place as often as we can.

Nice place with good garden and views, friendly staff. Decent choice of ales, not too expensive, well worth a visit. Very handy when staying at White Mark Farm campsite.

Went here for some 'Aunt Sally' in the garden, backs out over the fields and the Chilterns - very scenic. Don't know about the food but they had 4 ales on including 3.6% Butlers (plus 4.8% Butlers in bottles), Adnams Bitter and London Pride. Well worth visiting.

Slightly "out of the way", an unpretentious boozer but all the better for it, with a big garden.
A freehouse, serving decent pints of Butlers, Youngs and Rev. James, at (for this area)surprisingly reasonable prices, without the gastro-pub menu so common round here.
Deservedly busy.

Nice pub with good well kept beers and staff who know their business. The food is straitforward, Steak pie, Ham egg and chips, salads and the usual lasagne, curry, rolls sandwiches etc and at reasonable prices, and one of the few places who keep the kichen door open and you can see what goes on. This is one of dwindling number of pubs that caters for "people" oh and the customers are pleasant.
