I like this place, it gets full of Germans at weekends so must be doing something right? Go when you are hungry and after you have eaten you can sit and drink German beer for as long as you want. Lovely on a Summersday. beershot - 4 Jan 2011 13:34
Horrendously overpriced. The food before beer rule is madness and would only work if the food was any good. If you want a proper 'Biergarten' then go to Germany. It's only good for parents of a certain age who like to park their buggies in between tables. dragostea83 - 17 Sep 2010 16:12
Went there the other day- food was good, portions quite big, and the location really nice. Yes, it's a bit odd that you have to order food, but if you know in advance then it isn't a problem. For some reason they decided to shut early (around 9 or 9:30), not sure why. Oh and the pretzels were really nice (and complimentary). I'd recommend it and will go back there. followedthrough - 29 Aug 2010 14:47
This is truly a terrible watering hole. The only nice thing about it is the view, which is rather nice. You cannot buy a beer without payout out a lot of cash for a pretty bland meal. The reason given for this was given as "it is part of the licensing law" which is utter bunkam, just a way of getting rid of their left over/microwaved food. I really, really cannot recommend this at all. I gave it 1 star for the view, but 0 for the service given. LobsterFish - 4 Sep 2009 11:29
I know its a beer site, not a food site, but you have to eat here to be able to drink.. My currywurst was very poor, and there wasn't much of it, so overall, very bad value. Such a shame, as the location is nice and I do like the idea... harbourdrinker - 16 Aug 2007 16:58 |
