One of only a few DOG FRIENDLY pubs in Eastbourne. Glad to see they were doing a roaring lunchtime trade yesterday. Their Buccaneer ale was in very good nick too.

Last orders at 1045 on a Friday? Several local cask ales, particularly Arundel beers, available and in good form.

It was all pretty good until the staff of the local theatre turned up at 10pm and demanded karaoke. The novelty of these camp youngsters fighting to sing the next song off key wore off pretty quickly. The manager apologised about them as we left which at least put a smile on my face.

Good size, attractive building and part of the Orchid Group of pubs. Quite busy lunch time trade with a friendly vibe. There were four real ales on offer: Midsummer Madness, Bass, Doombar and Harvey's Sussex - I tried the Midsumer Madness and had a pint of Bass: unfortunately neither was in good condition. Seems like yet another pubco that's forgotten about the beer. Shame.

Well situated for theatre goers, and certainly a much better bet than the theatre bars fro pre entertainment drinks or (if you're quick) for interval refreshment. Also seems a pretty decent pub in itself. Only 2 ales on offer, but it seems there are usually more.
