I believe the previous contributor was referring to June Bailey, last heard of working at Bosham Sailing Club - The Holly Tree and Walberton's loss ! ! ! On the positive side, The Holly Tree has been purchased by Hanbury Properties and will be upgraded in conjunction with bed & breakfast accommodation. chippychappy - 3 Feb 2011 18:22
The "For Sale" sign is now up and local hearts are heavy. Surely whoever buy this great pub will keep it going. Although it could be worse, Greene King might get their grubby little hands on it!!! - then no Harveys, no home cooked food but better than cluere I suppose. A big thanks to the lady wo has worked so hard to make this the pub it is barryq - 2 Dec 2009 14:56
Apparently the landlady is leaving next week and an interim manager to take over. thequaffer - 26 Sep 2009 09:36
Visited the Holly Tree for both a snack at lunch time and for dinner in the evening when staying in the Hilton up the road. I have to say we received a friendly welcome from all of the staff. The snacks at lunch time and the dinner in the evening were all good home cooked pub food of which none of our party of eight could fault in any way. The London Pride and Harveys were both in good condition. I will certainly return if in the area again. Having just received my 2010 Good Beer Guide it was great to see that the Holly Tree is now in it. Beerbasher - 1 Sep 2009 18:44
London Pride, Bombardier and Harveys Bitters. Extensive menu with plates full of food. Emphasis appears to be on quantity rather than quality! thebrewingman - 8 Nov 2008 20:29
