user reviews of the Old Sun Hotel, Haworth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The final stop on the Haworth weekend pub crawl, the Old Sun boasts Sky Sports, wifebeater on tap, and a glass-strewn car park to which one may have recourse for that vital midnight wank behind a skip with some Keighley jailbait in Primark mukluks.

Be sure to shout incoherently at all times, and stagger heedless into the adjacent road. Do not bring your dog, unless pre-broiled and pouched in a pitta. A fine place for a pint, a fight, and an anticlimactic sneeze in the loins as you gaze disconsolately into the cancelled eyes of your erstwhile paramour.

Pub has changed since "Alberts" comment, we found this pub to be the friendliest pub in the area. It is family run pub and they do look after the customers. After our escape from the "Black Bull" we first of all checked that "Branwell" had not used the loo, leaned against the wall or been found drunk in the street outside ............ no, this pub instead serves good food and beer, whats so wrong with that!

Tired and a bit dull, this pub's out on a limb, a five minute walk from the top of the Main Street where the rest of the pubs are. The Sun was briefly the "clog and cobbler", Keighley's only attempt to join the wretched Oirish Pub craze of a few years back. Change the name, stick a cereal packet in the window and a bike on the wall... hey presto – "Irish" pub! Punters stayed away in droves, so they changed the pub back (a bit) but the customers never really returned. The Sun needs some money spending on it, and a bit of TLC. For instance, last time I was in the whole pub smelled of the gent's toilets.
