Since it's change, have not been there as often as the Ancient Mariner or the Westbourne as a little further afield. Not as friendly as the other pubs, food is of good quality but a bit pricey for a family night out. hoveactually - 18 Nov 2008 16:10
Hi! We're two girls from Germany and we are looking most urgently for a part-time job! Is there any possibility to work in your bar/pub? It would pleased us to hear from you soon. Email: jenny_2501@gmx.de Cheers, Jenny & Katha. ;-) jenny2501 - 10 Sep 2007 13:05
Not the greatest pub in Hove, thought that it was going to be good from the outside but the place was cold and had no atmosphere and the staff didn’t have much to say, come on guys sort it out. Food was overprices for what it was. They could do better. anonymous - 7 Jul 2007 20:40
Now called 'The Forager'. napoleon_dynamite - 9 May 2007 21:41
Used to be called The Stirling Arms. The new owners have proudly announced the 'first gastropub in Hove'. Food appears to be of a high standard and the menu is very interesting. Staff are friendly, efficient and polite, and the beer tastes fresh (Harvey's Best). The food isn't cheap, but the standard is way ahead of virtually all the pubs in the city. This place brings a high quality of interior design and food all the way down from London making a valiant attempt to drag the pubs of Hove into the present. The pub seems to attract well to do customers of a certain age (around the 40 mark) so you could end up feeling old/young if you are too far either side from this age group. Not one for pub purists, but if you value good food as much as good beer, definitely worth a visit. napoleon_dynamite - 9 May 2007 21:26
