The situation with plastics is a bit of a touchy one.
What we have managed to arrange is a more suitable solution with the licensing officers at Basingstoke.
Glass will now be used on all days with 3 exceptions: Wed, Fri & Sat evenings from 2100 onwards.
This is a positive step and we hope is a welcomed change. Lets us know your feedback please.

This place is a dump. Beer is average. Not my kind of place.

Yes the plastic glass issue is a pain !
maybe on a Friday & Saturday night but not during the rest of the week
& don't try dodging the issue by having a bottled Beer that gets put into a plastic pint glass as well
must be LLoyds bar thing because the other Wetherspoons at the top of town is glass all the way,
mind you looking at some of the clientele in here it may be a good thing

Busy, noisy, dark, full of slappers, poor beer served in plastic glasses so don't come here for the beer. Big screens showing music videos and the news. Bizarre mix of seedy business men, a few middle aged locals and the aforementioned slappers. On the plus side the service was a big quicker than the usual JDW/Lloyds standard.

Big, new(ish), shiney glass-and-steel Wetherspoons construct serving the cinema area.

The drinks range was pretty good and my Mauldons Black Adder was fine but a word of warning - they serve beer in plastic cups...even on a quiet Monday night in crazy Basingstoke!! If Mondays require beer to be served in plastic, Saturdays must be a riot!

On the plastic cups issue alone, I couldn't recommend this place as a beer venue but it's probably pleasant for coffee and lunch in the afternoon because of the glass frontage. But that's not why we're here, is it boys and girls?
