The previous reviewer makes a fair point. I've had some excellent nights in Patrick's but I've also had a night where my friend got started on for no reason. I've never had cause to complain about the beer and it has mostly been a good place to hang out. crazyk - 28 Oct 2008 16:47
Hit and Miss. Can sometimes be good and a laugh but at other times can be a bit verminous. CorBlimey - 5 Mar 2008 16:39
Loud, smokey and packed on weekends. Oh, did I mention ear-splittingly loudy music? Pardon me, for my ears are still ringing from the other night and I must have forgotten. Did I mention the smoke can be so thick you can't see from one end of the bar to the other on a bad night? Poor selection of slightly overpriced beer, though not nearly as costly as the Bridge Bar across the street or competitors such as La Rascasse. At least the pub has some atmosphere. A slightly older crowd frequents here as compared to O'Neills next door, and if you're in on time, the pub stays open late. In the end, it's one of the better choices in town Wanker - 4 Jan 2007 14:45
Crowded, noisey and smokey - it certainly can be but that's usually confined to the weekend when most people prefer somewhere lively to spend their Saturday night. To be fair, i think one of the best things about this pub is its varying atmosphere - a relaxed, quiet pub for a few pints after work during the week changing to a popular, lively bar at the weekend with a great mix of music. Messers aren't tolerated. Toilets are spotless. As for the real ale, its an Irish pub and understandably Guinness is king. anonymous - 22 Feb 2006 13:19
